The Data Protection Officer will be accountable for overseeing data protection at HungerStation in compliance with data protection laws. This role will serve as the central point of contact for implementation projects, regulatory engagement, and strategic privacy considerations.

Key Accountability Areas:

  • Collaborate with senior management, Legal, and Cyber Security teams to implement HungerStation's data protection and AI compliance program aligned with the global Delivery Hero privacy strategy.
  • Act as a point of contact for the Saudi Data & AI Authority (SDAIA) and other regulators in Saudi Arabia.
  • Align policies, practices, and procedures with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance.
  • Promote a privacy-oriented corporate culture and ensure ongoing training and awareness measures.
  • Lead HungerStation’s data governance program with a focus on data classification and enabling data subject rights.
  • Monitor and maintain records of personal data processing activities and support business teams on data protection-related matters.
  • Conduct privacy assessments and audits according to the Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) of Saudi Arabia and global Delivery Hero standards.
  • Report on compliance KPIs and develop policies and internal procedures related to data protection.
  • Participate in awareness activities and ensure adequate response plans for Personal Data Breach incidents.
  • Monitor SDAIA’s regulations and implement necessary amendments to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborate with AI ethics teams to meet Personal Data Protection and privacy requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law or equivalent qualification.
  • 3+ years of experience in data protection, preferably within a regulated entity in Saudi Arabia or the MENA region.
  • Certified expertise in data protection and AI legislation (IAPP CIPP, S-CDPO, CISSP, or similar certifications are a plus).
  • Proven track record in implementing compliance requirements and managing privacy projects.
  • Deep understanding of the interrelations between law and technology; experience in the online tech industry is welcomed.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience with supervisory authorities.
  • Sufficient knowledge of Personal Data breach risks and regulatory measures.
  • Honesty and integrity, with no convictions for offenses involving dishonesty or breach of trust.
  • Written and spoken fluency in Arabic and English is required.
