The Data Protection Officer (DPO) will support the implementation and monitoring of the company Group’s data protection compliance framework within the UAE. This position works closely with legal, operational, and IT teams while contributing to strategic privacy initiatives in a highly regulated environment. The DPO will serve as the primary contact for data protection matters, ensuring compliance with local regulations and Group standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Roll out the Group's data protection compliance program locally and report on its status.
  • Develop local compliance roadmaps to meet Group objectives and address identified gaps.
  • Support the deployment of Group data protection tools locally.
  • Adapt Group documentation to local legislation as necessary.
  • Serve as the primary contact for data protection topics.
  • Assist local teams with compliance for projects.
  • Prepare and update local data protection documentation including policies and procedures.
  • Conduct data privacy impact assessments and risk analyses as necessary.
  • Manage data subjects' requests and participate in negotiating Data Processing Agreements.
  • Conduct awareness and training sessions on data protection.
  • Monitor the evolution of data protection regulations and standards.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified in new technology law and/or certification in personal data protection.
  • Minimum three years of experience in a role focusing on data protection issues.
  • In-depth knowledge of personal data regulations, including GDPR.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; fluency in English required.
  • Familiarity with technological topics related to payments and new technologies is advantageous.
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritize actions effectively.

Language Requirements:
Fluent in English (both written and oral). Proficiency in other languages relevant to the region is highly appreciated.
