We are seeking a Data Science Manager to lead a team of data scientists and engineers. This role involves overseeing all aspects of model development and managing large-scale datasets while contributing to software and data platform development. The Data Science Manager will drive impactful outcomes, foster collaboration, and ensure the team's success in delivering high-quality solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of data scientists and engineers working with large-scale datasets, designing and developing novel foundation models.
- Manage the model development lifecycle, ensuring high-quality and impactful outcomes.
- Contribute to software and data delivery platforms with a service-oriented approach.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and market developments to support model and product development.
- Attract, develop, and retain top talents to grow the team.
- Promote effective communication and collaboration across teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in a relevant field, with at least 4 years in science and engineering management.
- Proven experience in building and deploying real-world Natural Language Understanding applications.
- Proficiency in the Arabic language; knowledge of Modern Standard Arabic grammar and morphology is a plus.
- Proficiency in Python with extensive knowledge of advanced techniques and concepts.
- Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow frameworks.
- Expertise in handling large-scale, real-world, noisy text corpora.
- Experience with large-scale distributed AI training and inference is a plus.
- Familiarity with multimodal foundation models is advantageous.
- Education or experience in computational and/or formal linguistics is a plus.
- Must demonstrate humility, excellence, relevance, and a strong sense of ownership.
