As a Data Science Manager, you will lead a team of data scientists and engineers, overseeing model development and managing large-scale datasets. You will contribute to software and data platform development, driving impactful outcomes and ensuring the team's success in delivering high-quality solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of data scientists and engineers to work with large-scale datasets, design and develop novel foundation models, and manage their subsequent specialisation, fine-tuning, and alignment.
- Oversee the entire model development lifecycle, including model design, experimentation, evaluation, prototyping, and production, ensuring quality outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of software and data delivery platforms with a service-oriented approach, creating reusable components for various business use cases.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, conducting research to support model and product development.
- Participate in team growth by attracting, developing, and retaining top talents.
- Promote a collaborative and inclusive team culture through effective communication and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
- 6+ years of experience in a relevant field, with at least 4 years in science and engineering management.
- Proven proficiency in building and deploying Natural Language Understanding applications/systems.
- Language Requirement: Proficiency in Arabic; knowledge of Modern Standard Arabic grammar and morphology is a plus.
- Strong proficiency in Python, with knowledge of advanced techniques and concepts.
- Extensive experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow frameworks.
- Proven expertise in handling large-scale, real-world, noisy text corpora.
- Experience with distributed AI training and inference, including multi-node and cluster GPU computing, is a plus.
- Familiarity with multimodal foundation models and education or experience in computational or formal linguistics are also pluses.
