The Advanced Analytics Centre of Excellence (AA CoE) has been established to drive the ambitious advanced analytics agenda of the company. This center aims to instill a data-driven culture across the organization and deliver significant business impacts through various advanced analytics projects. As a Data Scientist within the AA CoE, you will be primarily responsible for scoping, designing, and implementing machine-learning models, collaborating with various stakeholders to create big data applications, and supporting business units in achieving their objectives. The role also includes mentoring junior colleagues and playing a key part in fostering a collaborative and innovative culture within the team.

Core Responsibilities

  • Deliver a strong roadmap of AA projects in collaboration with Business Units.
  • Design and implement machine-learning models to support various business initiatives.
  • Document reusable code to ensure successful artefact management.
  • Achieve personal technical development and learning goals to enhance skills.
  • Conduct knowledge sharing sessions internally within the CoE and participate in external meetups and conferences.
  • Participate in and help plan cultural initiatives for the CoE.

Job Requirements

  • Education:
    • University degree in a related field.
    • Advanced degree (MS/Ph.D.) in Computer Applications, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline is desirable.
  • Experience:
    • 6-8 years of experience in a data science role is essential.
  • Knowledge & Skills:
    • Validated experience in defining analytics roadmaps and leading analytics engagements.
    • Experience in machine learning, statistics, optimization, or related fields.
    • Proficient in programming, particularly in R or Python.
    • Experience with large datasets, simulation/optimization, and distributed computing tools (Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, etc.) is essential.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Familiarity with agile environments and working with multiple stakeholders from the business.
