As part of its international bet on innovation, Iberdrola has set up a world-class global Innovation Center at the Qatar Science and Technology Park (QSTP). Aiming at Defining the Digital Utility, Iberdrola Innovation Middle East (ME) works at the intersection of energy and digital technologies, focusing on three key innovation and product development areas: smart grids, renewable energy integration and smart solutions for our customers.

The position

The Company is currently under a strong growth program and looking to enhance and enlarge its team of Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics experts. We are on the lookout for highly proficient Data Scientists / Artificial Intelligence Engineers, team leaders with superior innovation skills proven in the technology industry with advanced level in Statistics, Machine and Deep Learning, Generative AI, motivated in developing expert solutions in a cutting-edge environment (Real Time, Internet of Things, Edge Analytics, Image Processing). Strong programming skills working with data structures and algorithms (i.e., SQL, Python/R) are required. Successful candidates would have knowledge and experience analyzing large amounts of data in big data (i.e., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) and cloud computing environments (Azure, AWS, GCP).

Responsibilities

Qualifications and experience

• Understanding business and client needs and translate into functional and technical requirements
• Designing, planning, and executing AI /analytics cloud and edge solutions
• Work effectively with Cloud Architects and Full-Stack Developers to design, implement and operate superior cloud and edge solutions
• Leading technical teams: building strong, motivated, focused teams to deliver superior analytical solutions in demanding environments
• Validating developments and ensuring the application of methodologies and standards

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree or MSc in Mathematics, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields. PhD in relevant discipline would be a strong plus
• Proven experience in deploying analytical solutions in cloud computing environments (Azure, AWS) for industrial applications. Proficient in ML DevOps
• Solid experience in Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, …)
• Applied knowledge and experience in Visualization tools (Power BI, Looker, D3, …)
• Good level in programming languages such as Python or Java
• Familiarity with cloud-native databases like Cosmos DB, DynamoDB

Preferred Additional Skills

• Relevant certifications in cloud architecture (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect)

• Experience with Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms

• Familiarity with serverless architectures

• Years Of Experience

• Both junior (3-5 years of relevant work experience) and senior (more than 5 years’ experience) will be considered in the selection process

• Preference will be given to local candidates with a valid and transferable residency permit; provisions may be made for others if deemed necessary. This is a permanent full-time role based in the Qatar Science & Technology Park.
