As a Data Scientist on the algorithms track, your mission will be to enhance decision-making across product and business through relevant, reliable, and actionable data. You will contribute to a talented team consisting of data scientists and data engineers, and take ownership of a specific domain, collaborating closely with product and business managers. Your role will encompass the entire data value chain, including logging, data modeling, analysis, reporting, and experimentation, with a strong focus on utilizing Generative AI for data enrichment, smart content understanding, and automated decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Transform ambiguous business problems into objective criteria using data.
- Use appropriate algorithms to solve complex business problems that deliver business value.
- Design and implement impactful machine learning and generative AI systems in production.
- Develop a deep understanding of product experiences and business processes in your focus area.
- Create and maintain data models to measure performance and identify performance drivers.
- Collaborate with product and business teams to answer critical questions using data.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations through analysis and automated reporting.
- Plan and analyze experiments (A/B and multivariate tests).
- Support product and business managers with KPI design and goal setting.
- Mentor other data scientists in their growth journeys.
- Contribute to optimizing internal processes, tooling, and training programs.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, technology, or a related field; a postgraduate degree is a plus but not mandatory.
- 3+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, and Generative AI.
- Strong technical experience in machine learning, generative AI, recommendation systems, and data mining.
- Proficiency in ML frameworks like Scikit-learn, XGBoost, Keras, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
- Excellent SQL skills and competence in Python or R for reproducible data analysis.
- Familiarity with data modeling and dimensional design.
- Strong understanding of the entire data lifecycle and statistical techniques for analysis.
- Experience in online consumer product settings is advantageous.
- Excellent problem solver and collaborator with a strong sense of ownership.
- A 'keep it simple' approach to achieving results.
