In the role of Data Scientist on the analysis track, your mission will be to enhance decision-making quality across product and business using relevant, reliable, and actionable data. You will take ownership of a specific domain within product and business and collaborate closely with product and business managers as part of a talented team of data scientists and data engineers. Your responsibilities will encompass the entire data value chain, including logging, data modeling, analysis, reporting, and experimentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transform ambiguous business challenges into opportunities to drive objective criteria using data.
- Develop a deep understanding of product experiences and business processes relevant to your focus area.
- Familiarize yourself with source data and its generating systems through documentation and interaction with engineering teams.
- Contribute to the design and maintenance of data models to measure performance and understand performance drivers.
- Collaborate with product and business teams to identify key questions that data can effectively address.
- Deliver actionable insights and recommendations to support data-driven decision-making through analysis and automated reporting.
- Design, plan, and analyze experiments (A/B and multivariate tests).
- Support product and business managers with KPI design and goal setting.
- Mentor other data scientists in their professional growth.
- Contribute to improving workflows, tooling, and internal training programs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, technology, or a similar field (postgraduate degree is a plus).
- 3+ years of experience in data science and machine learning.
- Experience in an online consumer product setting is a plus.
- Strong SQL skills and proficiency in reproducible data analysis using Python or R.
- Familiarity with data modeling, dimensional design, and the data analysis lifecycle.
- Experience with various types of analysis (descriptive, exploratory, inferential, causal, predictive).
- Understanding of experiment design and analysis workflows and corresponding statistical techniques.
- Familiarity with product data and health measurement (conversion, engagement, retention).
- Knowledge of BigQuery and Google Cloud Platform is a plus.
- Experience in data engineering and developing data pipelines, e.g., via Airflow, is a plus.
- Familiarity with classical machine learning frameworks (Scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM) is a plus.
