Role Summary:
As a Data Scientist on the analysis track, your mission will be to enhance the quality of decisions made across product and business through relevant, reliable, and actionable data. You will own a specific domain, collaborating closely with product and business managers within a talented team of data scientists and data engineers. Responsibilities include managing the entire data value chain from logging to experimentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transform ambiguous business problems into objective criteria using data.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of product experiences and business processes.
  • Become familiar with the source data and its generation systems.
  • Contribute to the design and maintenance of data models for performance measurement.
  • Collaborate with product and business teams to address critical questions with data analysis.
  • Deliver actionable insights and recommendations to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Design, plan, and analyze experiments (A/B and multivariate tests).
  • Support product and business managers with KPI design and goal setting.
  • Mentor other data scientists and contribute to improving team tools and training programs.

Technical Experience:

  • Excellent SQL and proficiency in reproducible data analysis using Python or R.
  • Knowledge of data modeling and dimensional design.
  • Strong command of the data analysis lifecycle including auditing, analysis, interpretation, and presentation.
  • Familiarity with various types of analysis: descriptive, exploratory, inferential, causal, and predictive.
  • Understanding of experiment design and the corresponding statistical techniques.
  • Experience with product data and health measurement metrics.
  • Familiarity with BigQuery and Google Cloud Platform is a plus.
  • Experience in data engineering and pipeline development (e.g., via Airflow) is a plus.
  • Experience with classical ML frameworks (e.g., Scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM) is a plus.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, technology, or similar fields; a postgraduate degree is a plus but not required.
  • 3+ years of overall experience in data science and machine learning.
  • Experience in an online consumer product setting is a plus.
  • Excellent problem solver with a growth mindset.
  • Strong collaborator and communicator.
  • High sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Simplistic approach to problem-solving and execution.
