The Data Strategy and Analytics Specialist will be instrumental in driving our data-centric initiatives, focusing on leveraging data assets to inform decision-making and strategy. This role demands a deep understanding of data analytics, management, and strategy, combined with a hands-on approach to deliver actionable insights.
Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities:
As a Data Strategy and Analytics Specialist, the specialist will be tasked with crafting and executing a comprehensive data strategy aligned with our organizational objectives and the business or industry solutions to be deployed in areas as aquaculture, agriculture, sales, supply chain, etc. This includes establishing robust data governance frameworks to ensure data quality and compliance, managing the data lifecycle from acquisition to archiving. The specialist will develop and maintain analytical models and dashboards, providing in-depth, actionable reports.
Managing the integration of diverse data sources into a centralized warehouse, the specialist will ensure data accessibility and reliability for analysis. Looking into emerging data technologies and trends, the specialist will evaluate and recommend new analytical tools and techniques. Collaborating closely with the Digital Solution Architect and business units, the specialist will address data needs and foster data literacy across departments reminding the complexity of the data masters in our department. The specialist will monitor key performance indicators related to data initiatives, striving for continuous improvement in data processes and systems. Additionally, he/she will identify and mitigate risks in data handling, upholding stringent data security and privacy standards into internal projects and with external providers.
Background, Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of data management, warehousing, and governance principles.
- Proficient in data analytics, business intelligence tools (like Power BI, Tableau), and data visualization techniques.
- Solid understanding of database management systems and SQL.
- Familiarity with data privacy laws and compliance regulations.
- Awareness of emerging trends and technologies in data analytics and big data.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex data.
- Proficient in statistical analysis and predictive modeling.
- Hands-on experience with data integration and ETL processes.
- Skilled in project management, capable of leading data-related projects from conception to implementation.
- Experience with several years of hands-on projects in a data analytics or data management role.
- Proven track record of successfully executing data projects, with tangible improvements in business processes or decision-making.
- Experience in working with cross-functional teams and managing projects across multiple departments.
- Prior exposure to and successful handling of large datasets in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, economics, statistics, business administration, or a related field is required.
- Certifications in data analytics, business intelligence tools (such as Power BI, Tableau), or database management (like SQL) are beneficial.
- Certifications in project management methodologies (such as PMP or Agile) can be an asset.
- A master's degree in a related field or relevant certifications such as Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP) or Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) would be preferred.
