We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced DevOps Database Administrator with 7-12 years of expertise in database management, particularly with MySQL and PostgreSQL. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration and demonstrate proficiency in DevOps practices, automation, and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer, maintain, and optimize MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.
  • Perform routine database tasks such as backups, restores, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Implement and manage database infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Ansible.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts for database maintenance tasks.
  • Monitor database performance and proactively optimize queries for improved efficiency.
  • Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive data.
  • Provide technical guidance on database-related aspects of DevOps processes.
  • Implement and manage high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for all database-DevOps activities.
  • Establish and maintain database monitoring systems.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in MySQL InnoDB Cluster setup and management.
  • Experience with deploying and maintaining EDB PostgreSQL Cluster on Kubernetes (K8s) and virtual machines (VMs).
  • Knowledge of EDB EFM (Enterprise Failover Manager), MEM (MySQL Enterprise Monitor), and PEM (PostgreSQL Enterprise Manager) for effective PostgreSQL cluster management.
  • Create and modify Ansible playbooks/roles.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 7-12 years of experience as a Database Administrator.
  • Proficiency in MySQL and PostgreSQL database administration.
  • Strong understanding of database architecture, design, and optimization.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Git, Terraform, Jenkins).
  • Scripting and automation skills (e.g., Bash).
  • Good knowledge of any popular cloud (AWS/Azure/Google).

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with other database systems (e.g., Oracle, MongoDB).
  • Knowledge of cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure Database).
  • Certification in MySQL or PostgreSQL administration.
