Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years in a database-related role
  • Experience supporting AWS
  • Proficient in database administration, backup/recovery, and performance tuning
  • Understanding of cloud database operations (RDS snapshots, scaling, monitoring)
  • Hands-on with Linux administration and shell scripting
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and deployment
  • Basic knowledge of data warehousing and BI workflows
  • Experience with SQL skills for reporting optimization
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills
  • Good teamwork and communication skills with cross-functional teams
  • Availability outside of working hours to resolve emergency issues promptly

Educational Qualification & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Create, configure, and maintain databases for production, development, and test environments
  • Perform database installation, configuration, and patching for Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL
  • Support AWS RDS administration including parameter tuning, backups, and maintenance tasks
  • Execute daily health checks, performance monitoring, and alert analysis
  • Perform backup and recovery operations
  • Manage database users, roles, and permissions following least-privilege principles
  • Implement and monitor security controls including encryption, access logging, and password policies
  • Assist in migrations and upgrades
  • Support incident management by troubleshooting performance and availability issues
  • Participate in capacity planning, performance tuning, and resource optimization activities
  • Assist in documentation of configurations, recovery steps, and maintenance tasks
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency through validation and constraint management
  • Work closely with system, application, and development teams to support database-related activities
  • Follow established change management and release processes
  • Participate in DR tests and failover simulations
  • Support ETL jobs and reporting databases
  • Maintain consistency between transactional and analytical systems
  • Continuously learn new tools and technologies in the AWS and open-source database ecosystem
