Work Conditions: On-site, Part-time

Responsibilities:

  • Review, develop, and design data models using standard diagramming techniques; create logical and physical database structures.
  • Monitor relational databases to optimize performance and address integration issues, including migrations and capacity planning.
  • Provide architectural expertise and assist in technology and vendor selection.
  • Conduct growth analysis, capacity planning, and budget proposal development.
  • Research, evaluate, install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and systems.
  • Debug application and server performance issues; liaise with vendors to resolve issues.
  • Administer and test datacenter backup, recovery, and Disaster Recovery technologies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology and create relevant documentation.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned, including 24-hour on-call support.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a medium/large environment.
  • Industry certifications such as Oracle Database Administrator or MCP SQL Server are preferred.
  • Knowledge of Windows network environments (including Active Directory, DNS, LDAP, DHCP) is advantageous.
  • Experience in interpreting data models and developing database structures.
  • Familiarity with various Linux distributions and virtualization systems.
  • Knowledge of data security and disaster recovery systems.
  • Ability to plan, implement, test, and troubleshoot system software.
  • Proficient in hardware and software installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to manage large, complex data sets.
  • Ability to work on a scheduled 24-hour on-call basis.
