Datacenter Operations Manager

Key Accountabilities

• Lead the operations and maintenance of the organization's data center infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, networking equipment, and other IT infrastructure components as well as the facilities, including UPS, cooling, and power systems being well maintained and operated.
• Ensure the availability, reliability, and security of the organization’s mission-critical systems, including monitoring and analyzing system performance metrics and implementing improvement plans as needed.
• Implement policies and procedures related to data center operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
• Successfully track against OKRs, KPIs, SLAs, and metrics (incl. performance, capacity, availability, budget).
• Ensure critical business continuity plans are adhered to, including implementation of disaster preparedness, detailed project management, and logistics coordination.
• Empower a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspects of data center activities, collaborating and coordinating with multiple internal business groups to ensure the successful delivery of service levels.
• Own, implement, and drive efficiency across all sites.
• Primary operations interface for all technical and engineering matters related to Data Center site and solutions.
• Collaborate across departments to improve tools, processes, and working practices.

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Certifications such as VCP, CCNA, ITIL, etc.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in a role in Data Center operations and management.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in Data Center facilities, such as UPS, cooling, and power supply for large and hyperscale infrastructure.
• Good project management and vendor/contractor management skills on facilities replacement and upgrading.
• Demonstrated track record of data center/infrastructure operations management and maintenance or similar, leadership, and cross-functional management experience.
• Experience in leading and operating in a matrix environment.

Summary
The purpose of this role is overseeing operations of the company's state-of-the-art Data Center facilities. This includes managing end-to-end efficient and reliable performance of Data Center infrastructure at the company and managing a team of dedicated professionals. Additionally, this role ensures detailed Data Center Operations for Hyperscaler, Enterprise/Retail, and AI Data Center facilities, addressing electrical, mechanical, security, and building systems. This role is responsible for specific facility operational teams, both internal and external. A deep and up-to-date awareness of industry-wide hyperscale customer strategies, technology drivers, and SLAs will be essential. As this is a critical customer-facing role, a high level of autonomy and skill with complex customers, along with accountability in managing stakeholders, will be key aspects of this position.
