About the Job:
The L2 DataOps Consultant - Lakehouse Support provides operational diagnostics and incident management for Lakehouse data platforms within an investment management environment. This role is responsible for L2 incident resolution across data pipelines, coordinating with platform engineering, Data Engineers, and data domain teams, and applying structured ITSM, change, and problem management to minimize recurring issues. A working knowledge of investment management data domains (such as portfolio/positions, trade lifecycle, market data, and risk & performance) is essential for accurate incident interpretation and faster root cause analysis (RCA). The engagement is onsite for 6 months with a start date as soon as possible, requiring three resources.

Responsibilities:
- Own and manage L2 incident resolution for Lakehouse data platforms.
- Perform deep operational diagnostics across data pipelines (batch/stream).
- Coordinate resolution efforts with platform engineering, Data Engineers, and data domain teams.
- Ensure the correct use of ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow) for incident tracking and lifecycle management.
- Utilize metadata and documentation for troubleshooting and RCA.
- Maintain clear ownership, escalation paths, and communication throughout incidents.
- Reduce incident noise and recurring issues through structured problem management.
Mandatory Skills:
- Data Engineering skills: Experience as a Data Engineer, specifically with DeltaLake and Databricks environments, demonstrating proven hands-on experience working with Delta Lake.
- Strong experience in Data Operations (L2 support).
- Solid understanding of Lakehouse architectures (Databricks, Delta Lake, or equivalent).
- Hands-on experience with incident management (ITSM discipline), data pipeline troubleshooting (batch/stream), and cross-platform diagnostics.
- Working knowledge of metadata-driven operations, data lineage, and observability concepts.
- Proven capability to manage incidents end-to-end, including strong RCA, change, and problem management skills.
- Basic-to-intermediate knowledge of investment management data: portfolio/positions, trade lifecycle, market data, risk, and performance.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with enterprise-scale data platforms and observability tools (e.g., Dynatrace).
- Familiarity with batch orchestration tools.
- Exposure to Palantir (Foundry), Monte Carlo, and Azure DevOps.
Work Conditions:
On-site, Full-time in Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates.
