About the role
This position is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the Business Continuity Management (BCM) program, encompassing mobilization, business impact analysis, strategy definition, plan development, exercising, and embedding solutions into business-as-usual operations. The role is accountable for managing the scope, schedule, quality, commercial aspects, and client relationships, serving as the sole point of ownership for the client throughout the engagement.

Key responsibilities
Delivery ownership
- Own the delivery plan, milestones, dependencies, and critical path against the signed Statement of Work.
- Run governance activities including weekly status reporting, steering committee updates, RAID log maintenance, and change control.
- Manage the production of deliverables, conduct internal quality reviews, and secure formal acceptance from clients.
- Track commercials including budget, burn rate, milestone invoicing, and revenue recognition.
- Identify and manage scope creep, raising change requests before work is undertaken.
BCM technical scope
- Define the BCM scope, policy, and governance structure aligned to ISO 22301 and any applicable regulatory frameworks.
- Direct the Business Impact Analysis (BIA) including critical activities, dependencies, Maximum Tolerable Period of Disruption (MTPD), Recovery Time Objective (RTO), Recovery Point Objective (RPO), and Minimum Business Continuity Objectives (MBCO).
- Oversee the threat and risk assessment, developing appropriate continuity strategy options.
- Govern the creation of business continuity plans, crisis management structures, incident response protocols, and communication trees.
- Ensure IT disaster recovery capabilities align with business recovery goals and identify any gaps.
- Design and implement a comprehensive exercise program including walkthroughs, tabletop exercises, simulations, and live failover drills—driving remediation efforts based on findings.
- Foster awareness, training, and a continual improvement cycle to ensure sustaining capability post-handover.
Stakeholder and team management
- Serve as the primary interface for the client sponsor, BCM function, risk management, IT, and business unit leaders.
- Secure inputs, approvals, and participation from clients, escalating any slippage in dependencies promptly.
- Lead and develop the delivery team, allocating work appropriately, reviewing outputs, and managing team utilization.
- Conduct knowledge transfer initiatives to enable clients to operate the BCM capability independently.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in Business Continuity Management, Operational Resilience, Disaster Recovery, Enterprise Risk, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience leading end-to-end BCM programs from mobilization through implementation and handover.
- Demonstrated ability in conducting and governing:
- Business Impact Analyses (BIA)
- Risk Assessments
- Continuity Strategy Development
- Business Continuity Plan (BCP) development
- Crisis Management and Incident Response programs
- Experience managing program governance, including RAID logs, executive reporting, and steering committee processes.
- Effective in managing client-facing consulting engagements and program commercials.
- Proven success in leading workshops and engaging stakeholders across business and technology disciplines.
- Experienced in executing continuity exercises including tabletop simulations and recovery testing.
