The Directed Energy Research Center at the company is seeking a highly motivated Deputy SAR System Engineer to contribute to the development and implementation of a spaceborne Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) payload. This role will play a key part in designing, developing, and optimizing SAR systems for remote sensing and Earth observation applications. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in defining and documenting SAR system requirements and specifications.
- Support the process of flow-down of SAR system requirements into payload sub-systems.
- Engage in SAR system design, modeling, and simulation activities.
- Help implement and test SAR signal processing algorithms.
- Contribute to system integration, anomaly investigations, and optimization tasks.
- Assist in laboratory testing campaigns, including setup and data collection.
- Participate in analysis of SAR imagery and performance validation.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, AIT, and systems engineers across teams.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations.
- Stay updated on emerging SAR technologies and techniques.
- Manage requirement definition, interface control, and technical trade studies to ensure SAR payload mission success.
- Support the senior SAR system engineer in daily activities.
- Document testing procedures, results, and corrective actions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related field.
- Strong interest in radar signal processing, satellite imaging, or geospatial technologies.
- Understanding of RF and microwave systems and integration principles and methodologies.
- Familiarity with systems engineering principles and practices, such as requirements management and system validation.
- Passion for Remote Sensing Space Programs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and grow in a high-tech, research-driven environment.
