We are hiring a Design Manager to lead and contribute to our Visual Design practice, which supports brand and site experiences. This hands-on leadership role is suitable for experienced designers who are proficient in people management, delivery ownership, and strategic thinking.
Responsibilities:
- Apply and evolve existing design guidelines, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints.
- Lead diverse projects, including marketing assets, data visualization, print, and UI design.
- Collaborate closely with design systems and teams to influence the UI of digital experiences.
- Support a team of visual designers while promoting innovative and high-quality output.
- Conduct critical reviews and provide constructive feedback to maintain excellence.
- Continuously oversee and improve operational workflows and production processes.
- Work closely with stakeholders to clearly define project outcomes.
- Evolve design systems and guidelines to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Foster a culture of design appreciation across the organization and open-source community.
Qualifications:
- Portfolio demonstrating excellence in visual design leadership and execution.
- Experience managing complex projects and designer teams while remaining actively involved in design processes.
- Advanced knowledge of visual design principles (typography, layout, color).
- Strong understanding of processes and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Open to critique and feedback with a focus on usability and accessibility.
- Commitment to mentorship and skills development.
- Passion for technology and self-motivated with a results-oriented approach.
- Exceptional educational background in design or a compelling alternative narrative.
- Professional written and spoken English is required.
- Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events lasting up to two weeks.
