As a DevOps Engineer at Dubizzle, you will ensure that all our services are healthy, monitored, automated, and designed to scale. Collaborating closely with development teams, you will be involved from the early design stages through to identifying and resolving production issues. Your focus will be on automation, availability, performance, and reliability, supporting a wide range of products in our environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point responsible for the overall health, performance, efficiency, and capacity of our production environment.
- Assist in the implementation and design of systems used to operate Dubizzle, emphasizing automation and maintainability at scale.
- Build large CI/CD processes (experience with GitHub Actions preferred).
- Collaborate with the development team on operations-related issues and provide support.
- Maintain production-like environments for development and testing.
- Develop tools to monitor custom applications in a large-scale environment.
- Troubleshoot issues across the entire stack (hardware, software, application, and network).
- Migrate applications from legacy environments with minimal downtime.
- Participate in a shared 24x7 on-call rotation.
- Document system design and procedures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
- Significant experience in DevOps.
- AWS Solutions Architect certification.
- 4+ years of experience supporting hosted services in a high-volume customer-facing environment.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools, processes, culture, and distributed systems.
- Experience with Continuous Integration/Delivery pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
- Proficient in programming with high-level languages like Go, Ruby, Python, and Bash.
- 3+ years of proven experience managing infrastructure at scale using Kubernetes.
- Experience in migrating to AWS EKS or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of service mesh tools like Istio on Kubernetes.
