As a DevOps Engineer at Dubizzle, your primary focus will be ensuring that our services are healthy, monitored, automated, and designed for scalability. You will collaborate closely with development teams, supporting various products with an emphasis on reliability, automation, availability, and performance. Your responsibilities will include:
- Being the primary point responsible for the health, performance, efficiency, and capacity of our production environment.
- Implementing and designing the systems to operate Dubizzle, focusing on automation and maintainability at scale.
- Building large CI/CD processes (experience with GitHub actions is preferred).
- Collaborating with the development team on operations-related issues and providing support.
- Maintaining production-like environments for development and testing, ensuring a fast and reliable experience for product teams.
- Developing tools to monitor custom applications in a large-scale environment.
- Troubleshooting issues across the entire stack - hardware, software, application, and network.
- Migrating applications from legacy environments with minimal downtime.
- Participating in a shared 24x7 on-call rotation.
- Documenting system design and procedures.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- AWS Solutions Architect certification.
- 4+ years of experience in supporting hosted services in a high-volume customer-facing environment.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools, processes, culture, and experience with distributed systems.
- Experience in Continuous Integration/Delivery pipelines using tools like Jenkins and GitHub actions.
- Ability to write programs/utilities in a high-level programming language such as Go, Ruby, Python, and Bash.
- 3+ years of experience in managing large-scale infrastructure using container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Experience in migrating to AWS EKS or similar environments.
- Knowledge of service mesh tools such as Istio on Kubernetes.
