Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor, support, and maintain computer systems and financial trading platforms.
- Operate as part of the global support team, providing coverage across all sites and data centers.
- Develop and implement tools (bespoke and third-party) to automate key areas of software engineering and delivery.
- Support and maintain all trading applications while developing tools to enhance software engineering processes.
- Manage service delivery in line with ITIL standards for incident and problem management.
- Collaborate with Development and QA teams to align technical solutions with business needs.
- Administer and improve monitoring tools to ensure optimal application availability and performance.
- Develop and deploy automated scripts for routine operational checks and tasks.
- Troubleshoot issues across core, trading, and niche applications.
- Participate in out-of-hours and on-call support as needed.
Qualifications:
- BSc in IT, Computer Science, or an Engineering discipline.
- Proven experience supporting both Windows and Linux-based applications.
- Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux servers across virtualized, cloud-based, and bare metal environments.
- Development and scripting skills in one or more of the following: Python (preferred), C++, C#, Java, PowerShell, Ruby.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Grafana, Kibana, Puppet, Docker, Bamboo, Terraform, Kubernetes, and GitLab.
- Minimum of six years of experience in user support and systems management within multicultural environments.
- Experience with low-latency, high-frequency infrastructure and working with databases like PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge and experience with cloud technologies is preferred.
- Previous experience supporting Forex and Equity trading platforms is an advantage.
Skills:
- Strong multitasking ability with a proven track record of delivering applications and projects on time.
- In-depth understanding of the FIX protocol and its use in FX trading environments.
- Solid grasp of TCP/IP, SSL, and financial network technologies.
- Familiar with database technologies including MySQL, PostgreSQL, DB2, and MS SQL.
- Competent in systems tools and protocols such as SNMP, ManageEngine, Nagios, and Zabbix.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent communication abilities.
Work Conditions:
- On-site, full-time position.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends where required.
Language Requirements:
Preference may be given to candidates with direct experience within the trading/forex industry.
