Position

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Digital Forensics & Incident Response (DFIR) Resident Engineer to join our team in Dubai. The successful candidate will act as the primary technical expert on-site with our client, managing and maintaining the operational readiness of their DFIR solutions. This role requires hands-on expertise, particularly with Exterro FTK, and involves providing ongoing operational support, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for the client’s DFIR toolset with a focus on Exterro FTK.
  • Provide ongoing operational support for deployed DFIR solutions including Exterro FTK, OpenText EnCase, Oxygen Forensic Detective, Passware Kit Forensic, and ACE Lab PC-3000.
  • Assist with digital forensic investigations and incident response activities using the deployed tools.
  • Ensure DFIR solutions are optimally configured and functioning effectively.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for DFIR environment configuration, processes, and procedures.
  • Provide knowledge transfer and informal training to the client’s team members.
  • Liaise between the client and internal teams for technical support and escalations.
  • Stay updated on the latest DFIR trends, techniques, and tool updates.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven hands-on experience managing and utilizing Exterro FTK for digital forensics investigations.
  • Strong understanding of digital forensics principles, methodologies, and chain of custody procedures.
  • Experience working in a DFIR or SOC environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage on-site tasks effectively.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or equivalent practical experience.

Desired Qualifications & Skills:

  • Exterro Certified Engineer (ECE) or Exterro Certified Examiner (ACE) certification preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with tools such as OpenText EnCase Forensic, Oxygen Forensic Detective, and Passware Kit Forensic.
  • Experience as a resident engineer or in a client-facing technical support role.
  • Familiarity with digital forensics lab setup and management.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as GCFE, GCFA, EnCE, CFCE.

Contract Duration: Initial 6 months (permanent position after completion of the contract)

Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in digital forensics and incident response.
