You will identify, design, build, and productize deep subject matter expertise across a range of client engagements, focusing on new builds and revitalizing existing solutions. Responsibilities
- Operate as the technical go-to for a small group of contributors across the bespoke engagement portfolio, including developers and data engineers.
- Provide mentorship, code review, and architectural direction to the project team, helping shape quality products and solutions.
- Operate effectively across a portfolio of concurrent engagements, owning delivery end-to-end from clarification of requirements through deployment.
- Apply mature AI-assisted development practices as a core part of delivery, including prompt design, agent workflows, multi-file refactors, and disciplined human review of AI-generated code.
- Understand how to work in Agile teams to complete committed backlogs while being effective on smaller semi-autonomous engagements.
- Execute user stories according to acceptance criteria and participate fully in all stages of the software development life cycle activities.
- Contribute to design and architectural investigations that span both front-end and back-end concerns.
- Emphasize collaboration and communication within and outside the team to continually enhance software delivery processes.
- Communicate open items, risks, and trade-offs to key stakeholders, including management.
- Stay informed of technology developments and AI tooling advancements relevant to both current and future initiatives.
- Work well in a team environment with shared code, ensuring disciplined use of source control and process documentation.
Required Skills and Experience
- 8+ years’ experience working on a development team, with proven capability operating across both front-end and back-end stacks.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring developers and serving as the technical reference point for a small team.
- Proven capabilities in the following technologies:
- In-depth knowledge of C#/.NET (current LTS) and ASP.NET-based services.
- Strong experience building APIs with GraphQL.
- Strong proficiency with React (TypeScript).
- Experience with MongoDB, including hosted deployments on MongoDB Atlas.
- Regular usage of Azure DevOps (repos, boards, pipelines) and GitHub.
- Design patterns and clean architecture practices.
- Demonstrable experience using AI coding assistants as a core part of daily delivery, including agent-based workflows and disciplined human reviews of AI-generated code.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience with Agile and Kanban methodologies in teams of mixed disciplines.
- Self-starter, organized, and able to operate with minimal supervision.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.
Preferred
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure services used in our stack, including Storage Accounts, B2C, Key Vault, API Services, and Functions.
- Experience designing end-to-end solutions and/or products.
- Experience collaborating with data engineers and other cross-discipline contributors.
- Experience evaluating new development frameworks and technologies and providing adoption recommendations.
- Experience with software quality assurance methodologies and technologies.
- Experience building consensus across teams.
Considered an Asset
- Familiarity with Google Cloud services.
- Experience adapting development practices for AI-augmented teams, including workflow design and agent tooling.
- A strong appreciation for all skill sets needed to build exceptional products, including subject matter experts, engineers, designers, and user experience practitioners.
