Role Overview
The Growth Segments team is focused on incubating businesses that extend the company’s reach to low-income consumers and micro-merchants. By extending core business capabilities and functionalities to these segments, we aim to drive the secular shift of cash to digital and create domestic relevance for the company in local economies. Our initiatives are centered on building digital ecosystems that facilitate payments for underserved communities, ultimately formalizing their economies. As the Director, Global Sales for Growth Segments, you will identify high-potential opportunities, shape new initiatives, and lead complex solution sales to encourage the adoption of scalable the company offerings in cash-intensive sectors such as micro and small enterprises, rural communities, and agriculture value chains.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities for the company in underserved segments and cash-predominant sectors across multiple geographies.
  • Build and lead new Growth Segments initiatives addressing market needs in financial inclusion, small business digitization, rural commerce, agriculture ecosystems, micro-merchants, and emerging digital payment use cases.
  • Strengthen the company’s domestic relevance by designing initiatives that align with local market priorities and support national digitalization agendas.
  • Manage long, complex sales cycles from opportunity origination through solution design, stakeholder alignment, commercial negotiation, implementation planning, and launch readiness.
  • Create integrated value propositions by bridging the company’s core capabilities across issuing, acquiring, acceptance, digital payments, data, loyalty, cybersecurity, and technology assets.
  • Collaborate with the product team to define customer value propositions, partner models, revenue opportunities, business cases, and pricing approaches.
  • Coordinate with regional and market teams to adapt global Growth Segments priorities to local realities, client needs, regulatory environments, and ecosystem maturity.
  • Manage relationships with diverse stakeholders, including issuing and acquiring banks, fintechs, technology providers, and sector-specific enterprises.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure flexible execution of complex opportunities.
  • Develop senior-level narratives, proposals, business cases, and commercial materials that effectively communicate the company value proposition and implementation strategy.
  • Track pipeline progress, manage risks and dependencies, capture market insights, and facilitate the transition from incubation to commercial models.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strong commercial experience in global or regional sales, business development, market development, or solution commercialization within payments, financial services, technology, or related sectors.
  • Proven ability to identify market opportunities, shape initiatives, build business cases, and manage concepts from incubation to commercial execution.
  • Experience managing long and complex sales cycles across various geographies, with skill in navigating ambiguity and aligning stakeholders.
  • A solid understanding of the company’s core business areas or comparable capabilities, including issuing, acquiring, acceptance, and digital payment solutions.
  • Competence in working effectively with diverse customer and partner profiles across different sectors and markets.
  • Success in engaging with cross-functional teams, including product, sales, market development, and operations.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling abilities, with a talent for developing compelling presentations and proposals.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset, commercial discipline, and adaptability to leverage the company assets in new growth segments.

Corporate Security Responsibility
All individuals with access to the company’s assets and information have a responsibility for information security, requiring them to:

  • Abide by the company’s security policies and practices;
  • Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed;
  • Report any suspected information security violations or breaches; and
  • Complete all required periodic security trainings in line with the company’s guidelines.
