About the Role
The Head of Cyber Security will lead a strategic office responsible for overseeing the cybersecurity governance, risk management, compliance, and security operations management across corporate (IT) and Industrial (OT) environments. This role includes leading a team dedicated to maintaining a comprehensive cyber security program across the organization to protect the digital ecosystem and assets from breaches, exploitation, and internal threats. The position involves oversight of internal cyber security operations, including risk management, policy definitions, education, regulatory compliance, technologies, and data privacy.

Key Accountabilities
Strategic Role

  • Provide leadership in the strategic planning, execution, and assessment of all cyber security strategies, policies, procedures, and practices for IT and OT environments.
  • Establish and lead a comprehensive information security program to protect all IT and OT assets against current and future threats.
  • Identify, direct, coordinate, evaluate, and report on information security risks in compliance with industry requirements, enabling effective responses to cyber security risks.
  • Serve as the key liaison for all information security communications, coordinating internal staff, external resources, and national and international agencies.
  • Collaborate closely with automation control system leads and OT cybersecurity champions to establish security controls for the OT environment and secure IT/OT integration while maintaining necessary segmentation.
  • Oversee budgeting, project prioritization, industry relations, and provide expert guidance to leadership on cyber security matters.
  • Apply deep knowledge of technology, infrastructure (cloud, on-premise, server), automation and control systems, OT security, and secure architecture.

Budget Oversight

  • Consolidate and recommend the Cyber Security budget for both IT and OT environments, monitoring financial performance against this budget to identify cost reduction and performance improvement opportunities.

Training & Awareness

  • Manage the development of training and awareness programs on security best practices, supporting staff to ensure understanding of policies and procedures while monitoring adherence.

Relationship Management

  • Establish effective relationships with plant managers, control system engineers, and OT teams to secure environments against cyber threats.
  • Develop business relationships with vendors, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure service delivery adheres to high standards of ethics.

Leadership

  • Manage achievement of departmental objectives through effective leadership; recruit and motivate staff, managing performance and providing feedback.

Safety, Quality & Environment

  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental management policies to guarantee employee safety and legislative compliance.
  • Implement security controls in OT environments while ensuring performance and safety are not compromised.

Authority/Decision Making

  • Make decisions within defined policies and objectives under general direction; establish plans, determine priorities, and prescribe necessary processes.
  • Collaborate with the 1st and 3rd lines of defense to align cyber operations and auditing teams.

Qualifications & Skills
Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Relevant certifications (CRISK, PMP, CISA, CISM, GICSP, ISO27001, Lead Auditor, etc.) are highly desirable.

Minimum Experience

  • 10-15 years in IT and OT systems, security, and cyber security operations, with at least 4 years in progressively responsible managerial roles within a large manufacturing organization.
  • Experience managing IT/OT security vendor and contractor relationships.

Skills Required

  • Ability to create, manage, and maintain effective relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of the aluminium manufacturing sector, industrial automation control systems, and security architecture.
  • Expertise in IT/OT technologies, markets, vendors, and best practices in security.
  • Detailed technical knowledge of cloud architectures (including Microsoft Azure), networking, IoT platforms, and database technologies.
  • Well-developed skills in leading advanced IT and OT technical staff and communicating technical issues to non-technical employees.
  • Competence in project management, risk management, and developing collaborations among diverse groups.
