Role Summary:
The Growth Data Science Director will play a pivotal role in leading and accelerating growth strategies across multiple dimensions including marketing optimization, growth product initiatives, ecosystem plays, and advertisement revenue optimization. The role involves driving business impact through the design, execution, and interpretation of experiments, empowering product, marketing, and operations teams to make data-informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities:

Data Science: Define and execute a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the company's goals, leveraging data to drive business decisions and achieve strategic objectives. Lead cross-functional teams to implement innovative data-driven products and deliver measurable business impacts.

Experimentation & Causal Inference: Oversee rigorous A/B testing and establish best practices for hypothesis formulation, testing methodologies, and causality analysis to ensure actionable insights.

Analytics & Insights: Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business challenges into analytical problems and present data-driven recommendations to senior leadership.

Strategic Leadership and Business Acumen: Demonstrate strategic leadership and articulate a vision that aligns team efforts with organizational goals. Identify emerging trends and technologies to enhance business value.

Collaboration and Influence: Work collaboratively with various stakeholders, communicate effectively, and influence decision-making. Manage relationships with external partners and represent the organization at industry events.

Resource Management: Manage a larger team of data scientists, analysts, and engineers. Make data-driven decisions about resource allocation and prioritize projects effectively.

Strategic Hiring and Talent Development: Recruit and retain top talent, develop job descriptions, and create onboarding programs. Set expectations for team members and provide regular feedback to support their growth.

Organizational Change Management: Manage organizational change, involve stakeholders in decision-making, and implement change management plans.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in data science with leadership roles in data science teams or consulting.
- Ph.D. or Master's degree in a relevant field such as computer science, statistics, or data science.
- Proven experience in leading teams and fostering a high-performance culture.
- Deep knowledge of data science including statistics, causality, experimentation, and modeling.
- Business acumen with the ability to navigate complex landscapes and quantify the business impact of data-driven initiatives.
- Strategic thinking skills, capable of envisioning and communicating long-term data-driven goals.
