About the Role
The Media Delivery Lead will play a critical role in developing and managing the company's in-house media capability, initiating with two pilot regions before expanding on a global scale. This position will oversee regional media planning resources and will be instrumental in shaping the operating model, delivery standards, commercial controls, and integrated workflows among media planners, buyers, and trading desk partners. Key Responsibilities:
Strategy & Operating Model:
- Own the overall media capability — strategy, operating model, and performance across in-housed channels, encompassing clear pilot objectives, scope, and success metrics.
- Establish delivery standards, operating procedures, and methods of working across planning, buying, activation, optimization, measurement, and reporting to create a repeatable blueprint for future regional hubs.
- Drive the phased roadmap for in-house capability, setting market-readiness criteria, managing readiness checkpoints, and recommending future expansion sequences and approaches.
Commercial:
- Manage the media budget and provide commercial oversight, including transparent DSP fee structures and commission models.
- Govern trading desk commercial terms, ensuring clarity in DSP and platform fees, partner staffing models, and commission structures.
- Maintain a strategic day-to-day relationship with the trading desk partner, overseeing activities such as partner onboarding, service level agreements (SLAs), performance reviews, escalation, knowledge transfer, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and validate in-housing savings against the established business case.
- Ensure that trading desk delivery aligns with the in-housing business case, covering aspects such as agency fee avoidance, buying transparency, and performance enhancement.
Stakeholder & Governance:
- Serve as a senior point of contact for executive leadership, Finance, Legal, Risk, and Procurement teams regarding media in-housing matters.
- Chair governance forums and define the RACI framework for media planning, buying, optimization, and measurement.
- Present performance data, savings achievements, and roadmap progress to executive and regional stakeholders.
- Assist leadership in making decisions about the target global organization, governance model, and long-term ownership approach.
People & Team Build:
- Lead the pilot in-house team, including regional media planning contractors, while aiding the establishment of the permanent core team and regional delivery hubs.
- Define capability expectations for media planners, buyers, and performance specialists as the model expands across regions.
Key Qualifications:
Experience:
- 10+ years in media planning, buying, or performance media, including senior leadership in an in-house team or agency setting.
- Proven experience in building or scaling an in-house media function, or facilitating a client-side media transition from an agency.
- Multi-market or regional experience, preferably across Europe and EEMEA.
- Demonstrated ability to manage significant media budgets while achieving measurable efficiency and performance enhancements.
- Experience leading media planners, media buyers, and embedded trading desk teams across regional or multi-market campaign portfolios.
Skills:
- Advanced knowledge in paid social, search, programmatic advertising, and measurement/attribution.
- Strong commercial acumen, including contract negotiations, fee structures, and vendor management.
- Effective partner governance abilities, covering management of trading desk delivery, platform access, account ownership, transparent fee models, and service performance monitoring.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills suitable for executive-level interactions.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Media, Communications, Business, or a related field.
