As a Director of Engineering at HungerStation, you will:
- Tackle high-impact challenges to enhance the efficiency, affordability, and sustainability of last-mile delivery. Your contributions will directly improve experiences for riders, end customers, and vendors across Saudi Arabia and support our expansion into new areas, such as grocery and retail.
- Lead and scale high-performing teams, managing 3-6 engineering managers and overseeing an organization of 30+ engineers, fostering a culture of high performance, clarity of expectations, and alignment with organizational goals.
- Define and execute a strategic vision by developing and implementing technical and team strategies aligned with business objectives, ensuring impactful and scalable solutions are delivered.
- Drive business impact through collaboration by building and maintaining partnerships with Product and Operations leaders to align on priorities, OKRs, and roadmaps.
- Promote a culture of transparency and growth by fostering open communication, accountability, and continuous improvement through 360-degree feedback and sharing achievements and failures within the engineering community.
Qualifications:
- Fluency in English and Arabic, with excellent written and spoken communication skills.
- Previous experience working in the Saudi market and/or with start-ups.
- Demonstrated expertise in leading high-performing engineering teams, preferably within KSA-based technology start-ups.
- Proven track record of designing and delivering scalable products.
- Prior experience in building and managing complex systems.
- A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Experience leading senior personnel (staff & principal engineers, senior managers) is a plus.
- Strong fundamentals in Computer Science, including algorithms, mathematics, and a basic understanding of data science and machine learning.
