About the Role:
This position involves building, coaching, and developing a high-performing Engineering team while creating a culture of accountability, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The role requires building and maintaining strong, trusted relationships with Ownership to ensure alignment between asset preservation, capital investment priorities, and business objectives. You will act as a strategic partner for Ownership by providing transparent communication, sound technical expertise, and regular updates on property condition, capital projects, and long-term asset management plans. This role also entails developing strong relationships with hotel leadership, contractors, consultants, and key stakeholders to drive operational excellence and support long-term business objectives.

Responsibilities:
- Build, coach, and develop a high-performing Engineering team.
- Create a culture of accountability, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with Ownership.
- Serve as a strategic partner to Ownership by providing transparent communication and sound technical expertise.
- Develop strong relationships with hotel leadership, contractors, consultants, and key stakeholders.
- Drive preventive maintenance strategies to improve reliability and extend asset life.
- Maintain exceptional standards across the hotel's physical assets and infrastructure.
- Lead capital and improvement projects that enhance performance, guest satisfaction, and operational resilience.
- Ensure uncompromising standards in Life Safety, Fire Safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, sustainability, and operating performance.
- Manage departmental budgets, resources, and operating expenses effectively.
- Strengthen emergency preparedness through training, drills, and risk assessments.
- Develop future Engineering leaders through coaching, succession planning, and career development.
- Take full ownership of departmental performance and deliver sustainable, long-term results.
Requirements:
- Proven track record of more than 10 years in progressive engineering leadership, with significant responsibility for engineering operations in luxury hospitality, resort environments, or large-scale commercial properties.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and life-safety systems.
- Ability to engage, develop, and inspire people.
- Understanding of trust, transparency, and alignment on capital investments and long-term property goals.
- Experience in preventive maintenance, capital projects, asset management, budgeting, energy management, sustainability, and owner relations.
- Excellent judgement, commercial awareness, and the ability to remain calm and decisive under operational challenges.
