We are seeking a Director of Product Technology, Platforms to drive the technical evolution and productization of the company's shared agentic-AI platform. This role focuses on transforming advanced AI capabilities into secure, reliable, and scalable experiences for enterprise and government customers, bridging the gap between product ambition and engineering execution.
As the Director, you will report to the Senior Director of Product Technology and be responsible for setting technical direction, shaping architecture, and ensuring the platform is guided from concept through production. This involves partnering closely with teams across Product, Design, Engineering, Data & AI, Platform, Security, Delivery, and strategic technology partners, such as Microsoft. Success in this position requires a strong blend of technical and product judgment across usability, reliability, speed, security, and AI economics.
Responsibilities:
- Set the technical direction and execution roadmap for the company's shared agentic-AI platform.
- Evolve the architecture across agent runtime, orchestration, tool execution, governance, APIs, identity, multi-tenancy, security, and sovereign deployment.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Data & AI to translate models, agents, and prototypes into evaluated, usable, secure, observable, and supportable platform capabilities that meet customer needs.
- Lead the enterprise integration strategy for the platform, ensuring interoperability with strategic technology ecosystems.
- Establish robust engineering practices across development, release, and production, leveraging automated evaluations, observability, rollback, and clear operational ownership.
- Shape engineering capabilities and capacity needed to deliver the technical roadmap, directing efforts across Engineering, Data & AI, Platform, Security, and Design.
- Enhance platform reliability, scalability, performance, security, and AI economics across various deployment models including enterprise, sovereign, hybrid, and customer-controlled.
- Foster technical and product judgment through thorough reviews, setting clear expectations, coaching, and implementing shared engineering practices.
- Utilize production behavior, incident reports, customer feedback, and adoption signals to drive continuous platform and technical roadmap improvements.
Qualifications:
What We’re Looking For
- Senior product-engineering leadership experience in building complex enterprise platforms, developer products, or multi-tenant SaaS solutions.
- Strong hands-on technical credibility in architecture, system design, design or code review, and complex production diagnosis.
- In-depth knowledge of distributed systems, APIs, identity, security, multi-tenancy, reliability, observability, and production operations.
- Experience in shipping AI-powered products with practical familiarity with agents, RAG, evaluation, grounding, safety, latency, and cost management.
- Proven experience guiding products through all stages from early discovery and prototypes to launch, production operation, iteration, and scale.
- Strong product judgment rooted in user and developer workflows, usability, adoption, and measurable value.
- A history of leading across organizational boundaries and clarifying complex technical and commercial trade-offs.
- Ability to structure and clarify ambiguous environments while keeping teams productive without excessive processes.
- Effective communication skills, able to engage with engineers, researchers, executives, customers, and strategic partners.
Nice to Have
- Experience with agent platforms, copilots, workflow systems, developer platforms, or API ecosystems.
- Exposure to sovereign, regulated, government, hybrid, or on-premises deployment environments.
- Familiarity with AI evaluation, model observability, inference optimization, capacity planning, FinOps, or cost governance.
- Experience leading product engineering efforts across multiple locations.
