The Director of R&D will shape and lead the local R&D agenda, building impactful technical programs while interfacing with the company’s global technology leadership and the Saudi innovation ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategy, execution, and growth of the company’s KSA R&D site in alignment with global CTO priorities.
- Provide technical leadership across advanced technology domains such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Smart Manufacturing.
- Translate research and emerging technologies into practical, scalable R&D initiatives with measurable impact.
- Build and mentor a high-performing local R&D organization, fostering innovation and accountability.
- Represent the company as a technical leader with government entities, universities, and industry partners.
- Develop strategic partnerships aligned with national tech and innovation priorities.
- Advocate for AI adoption within the company.
Qualifications:
- 12+ years of experience in R&D, advanced engineering, or technology leadership.
- Demonstrated technical breadth across AI, robotics, manufacturing systems, or related deep-tech domains.
- Proven ability to lead complex, multidisciplinary R&D programs.
- Strong familiarity with the KSA AI, technology, and R&D landscape.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Arabic fluency (professional working proficiency preferred).
- Experience working with government, academic, or national innovation programs in Saudi Arabia.
- PhD or Masters in Computer Science or Engineering.
- Comfortable representing the company at senior external and governmental levels.
