Director, Research Technology and AI Enablement - Information Technology

The company seeks a Director, Research Technology and AI Enablement reporting to the Chief Information Officer. This position is responsible for leading the company's IT’s strategy and delivery of research technology services and institutional AI enablement. The Director will establish a cohesive IT framework that enables faculty, researchers, students, and administrative units to leverage advanced technologies to enhance discovery, innovation, and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities include:

• Research Technology Strategy: Be the primary IT partner to faculty and research centers, translating research needs into effective technology solutions.
• Research Computing Infrastructure: Oversee the design, delivery, and lifecycle management of research computing environments and specialized research systems, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and optimized.
• AI Enablement Strategy: Lead the development and execution of the company's IT’s AI enablement and support strategy, guiding adoption across various domains.
• AI Literacy & Workforce Enablement: Partner with Executive Education and Human Resources to design AI education and training programs to promote AI literacy and applied skills.

Qualifications:

• Required Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
• Preferred Education: Doctoral degree or advanced research experience in a related field.
• Experience:
  • 10+ years in research technology, research computing, or AI-related domains.
  • 5+ years in a leadership role managing technical teams.
  • Familiarity with AI technologies and their application in research settings.
