The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing all preventative maintenance work, new projects, extensions, and renovations at our premium resort located in Ras Al Khaimah, a serene destination offering beach, desert, and mountain adventures.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage all preventative maintenance work, new projects, extensions, and renovations.
  • Comply with all statutory and legal requirements for fire, health, and safety licensing while providing necessary safety equipment for efficient and safe operations.
  • Continually monitor and ensure responsible use of energy within the hotel and implement measures for energy cost savings.
  • Manage the engineering department in the absence of the Chief Engineer.
  • Prioritize and ensure efficient handling of maintenance requests by skilled and guest-friendly technicians.
  • Advise colleagues on health and safety rules and processes.
  • Perform related duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Building Services Engineering.
  • Experience in luxury hotels and resorts.
  • Relevant technical certifications in HVAC, electrical systems, plumbing, or building maintenance are beneficial.
  • Proficient knowledge in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, water supply, drainage, and mechanical systems.
  • Understanding of chillers, boilers, pumps, generators, AHUs, FCUs, BMS, elevators, and fire & life-safety systems.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, electrical diagrams, and equipment manuals.
  • Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
  • Familiarity with energy management and utility monitoring principles.
  • Basic knowledge of building automation/BMS and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Understanding of high service standards expected in luxury hotels and resorts.
  • Quick responsiveness to guest-room engineering complaints and emergencies.
  • Coordination skills with Housekeeping, Front Office, Security, F&B, and other hotel departments.
  • Ability to conduct maintenance work with minimal disruption to guests.
  • Solid understanding of hotel preventive maintenance schedules and engineering logbooks.
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety, fire safety, emergency procedures, and safe working practices.
  • Awareness of local building, electrical, environmental, and fire-safety regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, along with excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Capability to remain calm during breakdowns and emergencies.
  • Attention to detail and a strong safety awareness.
  • Good time management skills and ability to prioritize urgent maintenance requests.
  • Professional appearance and a guest-focused attitude.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
