Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the sales and pre-sales teams as a Dynatrace SME (technical consultant) to assess and define customer monitoring requirements with the help of Principal Vendor.
- Conduct comprehensive sizing exercises to accurately estimate resource consumption (e.g., host units, log volumes, metrics) for new clients and project enhancements.
- Deploy and configure Dynatrace agents and modules across various environments (e.g., on-premises, cloud, hybrid).
- Set up and manage monitoring dashboards, alerts, and reports.
- Ensure the Dynatrace platform is optimized for performance and reliability.
- Monitor the health and performance of applications and infrastructure using Dynatrace.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues identified by Dynatrace, working with relevant teams to implement fixes.
- Analyse monitoring data to detect anomalies, performance bottlenecks, and potential issues before they impact users.
- Work closely with DevOps, developers, and IT operations teams to integrate Dynatrace monitoring into CI/CD pipelines and other processes.
- Provide training and support to teams on using Dynatrace effectively.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Continuously improve monitoring coverage and accuracy by updating Dynatrace configurations, creating custom monitoring scripts, and enhancing existing setups.
- Diagnose and resolve performance issues and anomalies in real-time, leveraging Dynatrace's capabilities to analyze and address root causes.
- Create and manage dashboards, reports, and alerts to track performance metrics and ensure timely issue resolution.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of monitoring configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Dynatrace Professional certification is required; any additional Dynatrace certification is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in a similar role with hands-on experience in Dynatrace or similar monitoring tools.
- Experience with other monitoring tools (e.g., New Relic, AppDynamics, Splunk).
- Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Dynatrace APM, Dynatrace Managed, and Dynatrace SaaS solutions.
- Strong knowledge of application performance monitoring, infrastructure monitoring, and log management.
- Proven experience in Dynatrace platform sizing and capacity planning, including the ability to forecast resource consumption based on business and technical requirements.
Programming/Scripting
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell is a plus.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), understanding of cloud-native monitoring and familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work under pressure.
