About the Job: Our MV & LV Switchgear division designs and manufactures electrical distribution equipment for business-critical applications throughout Europe. Due to continued growth, the company is seeking ambitious and motivated Electrical Design/Control Engineers to join our team. The successful candidates will utilize intuitive electrical design software and established electrical standards to create design solutions that comply with client specifications. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy technical challenges and applying electrical principles to achieve successful outcomes in a dynamic design environment, close to manufacturing to test and validate theoretical designs. Responsibilities: - Collaborate with the Electrical Design team to prepare detailed design drawings and documentation for our Switchgear Manufacturing department. - Review tender information including specifications, single line diagrams, and quotations for compliance with customer requirements. - Oversee the electrical design drawings produced by junior design engineers and provide coaching and mentoring. - Contribute to the development of new practices and processes to enhance design team performance. - Ensure products comply with all relevant electrical regulations and standards using knowledge of IEC/IET/IEE standards. - Coordinate with the project management team to meet or exceed project timelines and objectives across multiple projects. - Develop software for standard control equipment and create test scripts to validate functionality. Qualifications: - 3rd level qualification in Engineering or 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role. - Proven experience in design engineering and managing multiple projects. - Understanding of wiring standards, including but not limited to BS7671 - 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations. - Strong aptitude for problem-solving applied to electrical control design. - Ability to adapt to a fast-paced business environment with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Proactive and flexible approach to teamwork.
