Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with project teams to understand project requirements and objectives; develop Electrical Lighting, Small Power, and ELV systems design plans, specifications, and schematics for construction projects.
- Perform electrical system calculations for buildings and determine the sizing and type of cables, lighting, and other devices for reliable systems in Residential, Commercial, and Industrial buildings.
- Develop detailed design calculations and drawings for Electrical Lighting, Small Power, and ELV systems procurements and installations.
- Ensure comprehensive designs meet project requirements while adhering to local building codes and industry standards.
- Prepare and maintain detailed design documentation, including drawings, schematics, riser diagrams, cable schedules, equipment schedules, and technical reports.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, electrical engineers, and other team members to integrate systems with other building services.
- Incorporate energy-efficient technologies and practices into designs to minimize environmental impact and reduce operational costs.
- Ensure all system designs comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Provide technical support during construction, including responding to Requests for Information (RFIs) to ensure proper installation and performance of systems.
- Conduct quality checks to verify the accuracy and completeness of design plans.
Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
Experience
- 5 years of experience as an Electrical Design Engineer in MEP Projects.
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong proficiency in design software or tools for MEP installations.
- Familiarity with MEP systems and terminology, along with an understanding of construction practices and building codes.
- Strong knowledge of Electrical Lighting, Small Power, and ELV systems, components, and equipment, as well as familiarity with building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
