About the Role
This position is dedicated to performing electrical checks, inspections, testing, and maintenance on refuelling vehicles (Dispensers & Refuellers), mobile equipment, and airport facilities under the company's responsibility. The role requires maintaining safety and efficiency in line with the company's Regulations, local legislative requirements, and site management training. Additionally, it involves acting as a deputy for the Maintenance Supervisor in their absence.

Primary Accountabilities

  • Perform all tasks safely, thoroughly, and efficiently as trained.
  • Demonstrate commitment to health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) standards and seek opportunities to prevent harm.
  • Continuously optimize the use of equipment, facilities, technology, and training to improve personal and company performance.
  • Independently conduct maintenance tasks as per the preventative maintenance program.
  • Execute repairs on vehicles and equipment as requested by the Maintenance Supervisor or noted on defect reports.
  • Conduct tests on aviation equipment according to procedures or training.
  • Accurately record maintenance activities using prescribed formats or applicable software, such as SAP.
  • Ensure adherence to HSSE and quality control procedures during vehicle and equipment repairs and maintenance.
  • Recommend and develop procedures to enhance efficiency, safety, reliability, or serviceability of operational equipment.
  • Authorize work permits and ensure a safe work environment for others, including third parties involved in construction, maintenance, or repair works at the depot.
  • Ensure timely completion of personal training.
  • Actively support the Maintenance Supervisor with their responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Engineering Diploma or Degree from a Technical Institute in Electrical/Electronics/Automobile/Auto electrician.
  • Extensive experience in maintenance within an aviation refuelling company, an authorized service center, or a major automotive maintenance garage.
  • Knowledge of electric vehicle maintenance, vehicle diagnostic tools (OBD Scanner), and PLC systems is advantageous.
  • Possession of a valid local UAE driving license.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of aviation equipment and vehicle operations, including hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical and electronic systems, and troubleshooting.
  • In-depth understanding of the company’s Regulations for Refuelling and Quality Control, as well as HSSE standards and local health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English, good computer skills (especially with Microsoft Office and Outlook), and the ability to understand electrical wiring diagrams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and competencies such as impact and influence, decisiveness, time management, teamwork, leadership, coaching, and development, with a focus on HSSE principles.

Special Characteristics of Activity

  • The work is conducted in the Middle East, where high temperatures (40 - 50°C) are prevalent, particularly for about half the year.
  • Candidates must uphold high standards according to the company's regulations concerning HSSE, operations, quality, and customer service under challenging environmental conditions.
  • Willingness and ability to work with a diverse group of individuals from various nationalities are essential.

  • The Maintenance Technician must adopt a safety-minded approach at all times.
  • Adhering to the company's Rules for maintenance technicians is required.
  • Complete compliance tasks assigned by the company and remain informed on all relevant legal HSSE requirements.
  • Report unsafe acts, conditions, and near misses to the supervisor.
  • Teamwork and safety practices influence the actions and behaviors of others in the workplace.
