About the Role
As an Electrical Technician, you will work under the direction of the Electrical Supervisor/Engineer to execute all preventive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance activities, along with annual outages and overhauling work for plant equipment. You will be tasked with ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols and maintaining efficient operation within the plant.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Ensure that all duties are performed in a safe, efficient, and effective manner, complying with company safety rules and regulations.
- Perform all maintenance activities in a timely and safe manner, adhering to maintenance procedures and work instructions, while documenting maintenance concerns and equipment history.
- Report any spare parts and consumables required for activities to the Electrical Supervisor/Engineer and keep spares availability updated to meet maintenance requirements.
- Carry out proper isolations before starting maintenance activities on equipment that has been released for maintenance, in coordination with the Electrical Supervisor and local operator.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems, performing maintenance on equipment under your jurisdiction, with a solid understanding of electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and protection drawings related to the equipment used in the plant.
- Install, adjust, inspect, service, and repair a variety of static and rotating electrical equipment utilized in power and desalination plants.
- Prepare for electrical maintenance activities on assigned equipment/areas.
- Maintain a working knowledge of equipment operation and associated operating systems.
- Perform 5S housekeeping in your work area.
- Undertake other duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering OR at least 4 years of experience as a Skilled Electrical Labor in NOMAC plants.
Preferred Qualification
Minimum Experience
- 4 years in a similar position OR a minimum of 4 years as a Skilled Electrical Labor in NOMAC plants.
Preferred Experience
- Extensive experience as an Electrical Technician in one of the following: conventional power, combined cycle, cogeneration, water desalination plants (such as RO, MSF, MED), or renewable energy plants (such as solar or wind).
Required Skills
- General awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety, and Environmental Management principles.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to achieve objectives efficiently and responsibly.
- Willingness to work in challenging environments, including confined spaces, heights, and chemical exposure.
- Understanding and enforcement of safe work practices related to respiratory protection, elevated work platforms, fall protection, hazardous energy control (Lockout/Tag-out procedure), fire protection systems, electrical safety, confined space entry, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Knowledge of waste identification, classification, and disposal.
- Understanding of the environmental and health impacts of chemicals used in the plant.
- Familiarity with firefighting equipment and first aid measures.
- Basic knowledge of power and water plant operational activities.
- Basic computer skills.
Desired Certifications / Skills / Training
- Awareness or working knowledge of ISO9001, 14001, and OHSAS 18001 is preferred.
