About the Role
The Electrical Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective maintenance of electrical equipment at the Layla Plant. Working under the direction of the Electrical Supervisor or Engineer, the technician is responsible for executing preventive, corrective, and condition-based maintenance activities, as well as annual outages and overhauling work on plant equipment while adhering strictly to safety policies.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Ensure that duties are performed safely, efficiently, and effectively in compliance with the company safety rules and regulations.
- Execute all maintenance activities in a timely and safe manner, strictly following maintenance procedures and work instructions, and document maintenance history for equipment.
- Report to the Electrical Supervisor/Engineer regarding the need for spare parts and consumables, and update on spare availability to meet maintenance demands.
- Ensure proper isolation of equipment before initiating maintenance activities, coordinating with the Electrical Supervisor and local operator.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose problems, performing maintenance on equipment, with a solid understanding of electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and protection drawings relevant to the plant equipment.
- Install, adjust, inspect, service, and repair a variety of static and rotating electrical equipment utilized in power and desalination plants.
- Prepare all necessary preparations required for electrical maintenance of assigned equipment/areas.
- Maintain a working knowledge of equipment operation and associated operating systems.
- Conduct 5S housekeeping in the work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements
Desired
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering
OR
- At least 4 years of experience as Skilled Electrical Labor in the company plants.
Preferred
- Bachelor of Engineering.
Minimum Experience
Minimum
- 4 years in the same position
OR
- At least 4 years as Skilled Electrical Labor in the company plants.
Preferable
- Extensive experience as an Electrical Technician in Conventional, Combined Cycle, Cogeneration, Water Desalination Plants (e.g., RO, MSF, MED), and Renewable Energy plants (e.g., Solar, Wind) is preferred.
Required Skills
- Awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety, and Environment Management system principles.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, completing objectives with a sense of responsibility.
- Willingness to work in non-ideal environments, including confined spaces, heights, and around chemicals.
- Understanding and enforcement of safe work practices concerning respiratory protection, elevated work platforms, fall protection, lockout/tag-out procedures, fire protection systems, electrical safety, confined space entry, and PPE.
- Knowledge of waste identification, classification, and disposal.
- Awareness of the environmental and health impact of chemicals used in the plant.
- Familiarity with firefighting equipment and first aid measures.
- Basic knowledge of power/water plant operational activities.
- Basic computer skills.
Desired Certification / Job Specific Skill / Training
- Awareness or working knowledge of ISO9001, 14001, and OHSAS 18001 is preferred.
