Roles & Responsibilities
- Responsible for ensuring duties are performed safely, efficiently, and effectively, while complying with all relevant safety rules and regulations.
- Execute all maintenance activities in a timely and safe manner, documenting maintenance concerns and equipment history.
- Report spare parts and consumable needs to the Electrical Supervisor/Engineer and update on availability to meet maintenance requirements.
- Conduct proper isolations before starting maintenance activities in coordination with the Electrical Supervisor and local operator.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform maintenance on equipment, utilizing knowledge of electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and protection drawings.
- Install, adjust, inspect, service, and repair various static and rotating electrical equipment utilized in power and desalination plants.
- Prepare for electrical maintenance on assigned equipment or areas.
- Maintain a working knowledge of equipment operation and associated systems.
- Uphold 5S housekeeping standards in the work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Specifications
- Educational Requirements:
- Desired: Diploma in Electrical Engineering or proven experience as Skilled Electrical Labor in the company plants for a minimum of 4 years.
- Preferred: Bachelor of Engineering.
- Minimum Experience:
- Minimum: 4 years in a similar position or worked as Skilled Electrical Labor in the company plants for a minimum of 4 years.
- Preferable: Extensive experience as Electrical Technician in one of the following types of plants: Conventional, Combined Cycle, Cogeneration, Water Desalination (RO, MSF, MED), and Renewable Energy (Solar, Wind Mills).
Required Skills
- Generic awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety, and Environment Management system principles.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, fulfilling responsibilities efficiently.
- Willingness to work in challenging environments, including confined spaces, heights, and around chemicals.
- Understanding and enforcement of safe work practices, including respiratory protection, fall protection, Lockout/Tag-out procedures, and PPE usage.
- Knowledge of waste identification, classification, and disposal.
- Understanding of environmental and health impacts of chemicals used in the plant.
- Familiarity with firefighting equipment.
- Knowledge of First Aid measures.
- Basic understanding of power/water plant operational activities.
- Basic computer skills.
Desired Certifications/Skills/Training
- Awareness or working knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, OHSAS 18001 is preferred.
