Location: United Arab Emirates (On-site)
Work Conditions: Full-time

Main Responsibilities:

  • Firmware Development: Design and write efficient, robust, and well-documented firmware in C/C++ for microcontrollers and embedded processors.
  • Low-Level Programming: Develop and optimize drivers for communication interfaces (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART) and various sensors, including transducers and pressure sensors.
  • Hardware-Software Integration: Collaborate with hardware engineers to bring up new boards and debug hardware-software interface issues.
  • Real-Time Systems: Implement real-time operating systems (RTOS) and manage resource allocation to ensure mission-critical processes meet strict timing requirements.
  • Power Management: Develop and implement strategies for ultra-low-power operation to maximize battery life for long-term deployments.
  • Testing & Debugging: Create test scripts and debug embedded software using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and in-circuit debuggers.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Hands-on experience with various microcontroller architectures (e.g., ARM, PIC) and knowledge of their peripherals.
  • Practical experience with real-time operating systems such as FreeRTOS, Zephyr, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design, schematics, and datasheets.
  • Knowledge of standard communication protocols used in embedded systems.
  • Excellent analytical and debugging skills to diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software issues.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in embedded systems development, preferably in a product-focused role.
  • Prior experience with underwater systems, IoT devices, or other low-power, ruggedized electronics is highly desirable.
