Position

The Directed Energy Research Center is seeking a motivated Electronics Engineer to join the Technology Innovation Institute (TII) and contribute to the development and implementation of a spaceborne SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) payload. The candidate will be involved in hardware/radio frequency (HW/RF) subsystem design, testing, and integration for spaceborne SAR payloads.

Job Location: United Arab Emirates (On-site)
Work Conditions: Full-time

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the design and analysis of HW/RF subsystems for SAR payloads, focusing on the transmit/receive chain for the radar front-end.
  • Performing HW/RF simulations and modeling.
  • Supporting laboratory RF testing and measurements using network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.
  • Contributing to the integration of HW/RF components into the larger SAR system architecture.
  • Assisting with system-level testing and anomaly investigations.
  • Validating HW/RF subsystem performance through simulations and testing in collaboration with senior engineers.
  • Interpreting electronic schematics, circuit diagrams, and selecting appropriate electronic components.
  • Supporting the development and documentation of test procedures, data analysis reports, and HW/RF validation summaries.
  • Collaborating with digital, software, AIT, and systems engineers to ensure cross-domain integration of SAR payload.
  • Staying informed about emerging SAR technologies and trends relevant to space applications.
  • Participating in technical reviews and design discussions related to HW/RF and SAR development.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong academic or practical experience in HW/RF engineering.
  • Familiarity with key HW/RF tools and test equipment (e.g., VNA, SA, Oscilloscope).
  • Basic knowledge of radar principles, especially in the context of SAR.
  • Exposure to simulation tools such as CST, HFSS, Keysight ADS, or ALTIUM.
  • Understanding of HW/RF design principles.
  • Passion for Remote Sensing Space Programs.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in a high-tech, research-driven environment.
