We are expanding our team to hire an Embedded Linux Field Engineer for Devices/IoT, focusing on mission-critical industries such as Automotive, Medical Devices, Industrial Systems, Robotics, and Consumer Electronics.

As an Embedded Linux Field Engineer, you will be a vital part of our efforts to provide cutting-edge solutions in these sectors, working directly with customers to bring their ideas to life. Successful candidates will be proficient in Linux and capable coders, with a solid grasp of low-level Linux operations and embedded software development methodologies. You will engage customers during presales activities, elaborate technical solutions, deliver projects, and serve as a trusted advisor.

Location: Dubai, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (Remote)
Work Conditions: Full-time, willingness to travel up to 30% of the time for customer meetings, company events, and conferences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with customers to gather requirements and explain our technology.
  • Propose tailored solutions to prospective clients and participate in delivering projects related to Embedded Linux.
  • Advocate for customer needs within Canonical and help refine solutions to unlock market potential.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Extensive Linux experience, preferably with Debian or Ubuntu.
  • Proficiency in distribution/packaging experience (deb, rpm).
  • Solid experience with embedded Linux tools such as Yocto and Buildroot.
  • Fluency in at least one of Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust.
  • Professional written and spoken English proficiency; local language fluency required for positions in Japan and Korea.
  • Excellent communication, presentation skills, and a result-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to multi-task and a personal drive to meet commitments.
