We are hiring an Embedded Linux Field Engineering Manager to lead a team of Field engineers focused on Presales and Professional Services, assisting customers with solution architecture, design, and delivery. Your leadership will empower this regionally-focused team to help clients create secure connected devices through our Ubuntu OS, and ensure adherence to stringent quality and security requirements in their mission-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a team of Field engineers in Presales and Professional Services
- Solve customer problems and act as a trusted advisor
- Coach, mentor, and provide career development feedback to team members
- Manage progress on goals and projects while representing your team and product to stakeholders
- Implement disciplined engineering processes and develop engineering practices
What We Are Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
- Extensive experience with embedded Linux (preferably Yocto) and general Linux (Debian or Ubuntu)
- Proficiency in at least one programming language: Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust
- Experience managing a small team and engaging with customers
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a results-oriented mindset
Additional Desirable Traits:
- Experience with RTOS
- Proficiency in additional languages (both programming and human)
- Previous experience in a remote-first, diverse, distributed work environment
