This role is intended for someone located in the Americas, EMEA, or APAC, as you will manage a team that spans these time zones. The mission is to enable companies to create secure connected devices using Canonical’s base Ubuntu OS and kernel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a team of Field engineers in Presales and Professional Services.
- Solve customer problems by actively promoting our technologies and serving as a trusted advisor.
- Coach, mentor, and provide career development feedback to your team.
- Identify and measure team health indicators and implement disciplined engineering processes.
- Represent your team and product to stakeholders, partners, and customers.
- Collaborate with other leaders as part of the leadership team.
Requirements:
- Exceptional academic track record from both high school and university.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Extensive experience with embedded Linux (e.g., Yocto) and Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred).
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust).
- Experience managing a small team and engaging with customers.
- Professional written and spoken English proficiency.
- Strong interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility, and accountability.
- Result-oriented with a personal drive to meet commitments.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with RTOS.
- Knowledge of additional programming or spoken languages.
- Previous experience in a remote-first, diverse, distributed company.
