Key Responsibilities:
- Execute HVAC pre-commissioning, commissioning, testing, and mechanical completion activities following approved procedures and project schedules.
- Inspect and verify HVAC equipment, including chillers, Air Handling Units (AHUs), Fan Coil Units (FCUs), air-conditioning units, ventilation fans, pumps, valves, ducting, and chilled-water piping.
- Perform functional testing and verification of HVAC systems to ensure proper operation and performance.
- Review HVAC drawings, equipment specifications, vendor data sheets, and commissioning documents.
- Assist with cooling-load and heat-load calculations and HVAC equipment selection.
- Identify technical issues, installation deficiencies, and commissioning punch-list items; follow up on their closure.
- Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, Piping, and other commissioning teams to ensure system readiness.
- Liaise with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and service engineers during commissioning activities.
- Prepare commissioning procedures, checklists, test reports, and completion documentation.
- Ensure compliance with Permit to Work (PTW), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), project quality standards, and HSE requirements.
- Support commissioning trials, system handover, warranty activities, and project close-out where applicable.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in HVAC system design, testing, and commissioning.
- Experience in shipyard, marine, offshore, oil and gas, or industrial projects is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, cooling-load calculations, equipment selection, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with chillers, AHUs, FCUs, ventilation systems, air-conditioning units, pumps, valves, ducting, and chilled-water piping.
- Ability to read and interpret HVAC drawings, technical specifications, and vendor documentation.
- Knowledge of commissioning procedures, mechanical completion, preservation, and project handover requirements.
- Proficiency in HVAC design software, preferably Carrier HAP, and Microsoft Project and Excel.
- Familiarity with project completion systems such as WinPCS, PIMS, ProCoSys, GoCompletions, or equivalent.
- Good communication, coordination, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of HSE requirements, PTW, LOTO, and applicable marine/offshore standards.
