Position

About the Role:
The company is seeking an experienced Engineer – Commissioning (Instrumentation & Control) to support commissioning activities for shipyard and industrial projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for the inspection, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and functional verification of instrumentation and control systems in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable standards, and HSE requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute Instrumentation & Control commissioning activities in accordance with approved commissioning procedures and project schedules.
  • Carry out inspection, testing, calibration, loop checking, and functional testing of instrumentation and control systems.
  • Verify installation and commissioning of instruments, control valves, transmitters, switches, gauges, analyzers, and associated equipment.
  • Perform continuity checks, insulation resistance checks, point-to-point checks, loop checks, and functional tests.
  • Review and verify P&IDs, instrument index, I/O lists, loop diagrams, hook-up drawings, cable schedules, and cause & effect diagrams.
  • Support commissioning and troubleshooting of PLC, DCS, SCADA, ESD, F&G, and other control systems where applicable.
  • Coordinate with Electrical, Mechanical, Piping, Operations, and other commissioning disciplines to ensure system readiness.
  • Identify installation deficiencies, commissioning issues, and punch-list items and follow up on their close-out.
  • Ensure all commissioning activities are completed in accordance with approved procedures, quality requirements, and project specifications.
  • Prepare and maintain commissioning records, test sheets, checklists, inspection reports, and other required documentation.
  • Liaise with client representatives, subcontractors, vendors, and project teams during commissioning activities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Instrumentation & Control, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Instrumentation & Control commissioning.
  • Previous experience in shipyard, marine, offshore, oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial projects is preferred.
  • Strong hands-on experience in instrumentation commissioning, loop checking, calibration, functional testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Good knowledge of PLC/DCS/SCADA, ESD, Fire & Gas systems, control valves, transmitters, and instrumentation systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, instrument hook-ups, I/O lists, and cause & effect diagrams.
  • Good knowledge of relevant international standards, project specifications, and commissioning practices.
