This position involves supporting the delivery of detailed design of Electrical & ELV systems while ensuring compliance with design guidelines, industry and international standards, local codes, and regulations. You will work closely with engineering and project teams to complete and review designs, technical submissions or bids, scope, budget, and schedule.
In this role, you will manage a team of engineers to deliver projects and meet tight deadlines, while also mentoring junior engineers and familiarizing them with various design standards and industry best practices, including design guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare concept designs and technical analyses of design options in collaboration with engineering and project teams while performing assignments within deadlines.
- Perform detailed engineering and design & sizing calculations.
- Utilize software such as ETAP/AMTECH and Dialux for design tasks.
- Develop and review project specifications and ensure compliance with project requirements, including adherence to design guidelines, industry and international standards, local codes, and regulations.
- Assess design risk factors and reliability issues.
- Provide subject matter expertise in Data Centre Electrical & ELV systems.
- Conduct electrical system design optimization for energy efficiency.
- Conduct surveys, gap analyses, reviews, and assessments of existing data center sites and documentation, and develop technical reports.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders under the supervision of the design manager and director.
- Demonstrate flexibility by taking on multiple job roles simultaneously to meet deadlines.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering; Master’s degree is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical & ELV systems design and engineering, specifically in Data Center projects or similar mission-critical facilities.
- Extensive design experience and knowledge in electrical design including small power, CCTV, fire alarm, access control, EPMS, and building automation.
- Proficient in MS Office and AutoCAD/Revit software.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Willingness to travel for site inspections and participate in testing and commissioning activities at factories and project sites.
