This position involves working under the direction of the Section Head to plan and supervise all preventive and corrective maintenance, as well as manage monthly and annual outages and overhauling work activities on plant Instrumentation & Control (I&C) equipment. Roles & Responsibilities
- Assign preventive and corrective maintenance jobs based on the direction of the Section Head.
- Supervise and coordinate activities of maintenance staff while maintaining records and preparing reports related to work.
- Execute work orders through CMMS (SAP) and coordinate with the planning engineer for job completion and technical matters.
- Maintain necessary communications to report on matters requiring action and ensure corrective actions are undertaken.
- Assist the Section Head Maintenance Manager in executing corrective maintenance and planned maintenance in line with the annual maintenance schedule.
- Perform technical evaluation of quotations from the purchasing department and recommend suitable options.
- Prepare purchase requisitions for spare parts and consumables while adhering to budget constraints and arranging strategic spare availability for maintenance needs.
- Review and recommend new maintenance procedures and work instructions.
- Supervise, direct, and coordinate all personnel assigned to the I&C maintenance area.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by management.
- Ensure Environmental Aspect-Impact and Hazard Risk Assessments are executed, controlled, and updated.
- Implement, monitor, and report Integrated Management System (IMS) objectives, targets, and programs.
- Provide necessary resources for the effective implementation of IMS and report its performance to management periodically.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements related to maintenance activities.
- Identify root causes for non-conformances/deviations and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Identify competency gaps among subordinates and take necessary actions.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations for reporting employees.
- Ensure compliance with legal, contractual, and organizational requirements.
- Provide on-the-job training to new employees and assess their training performance.
- Identify, document, and control hazards in the assigned work area, ensuring operational controls are adhered to.
- Report any deviations in the IMS, identifying root causes to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Report on emergencies, incidents, and near misses, ensuring effective resource utilization.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements
- Desired: Bachelor's Degree in I&C Engineering from a four-year college or university.
Experience
- Minimum: Six to ten years of related experience and training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred: Twelve years of related experience and training or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Skills
- Awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety, and Environmental Management System principles.
- Knowledge of applicable legal requirements, Hazard Risk Assessment, and Aspect Impact Assessment.
- Strong investigation skills and knowledge of spillage containment, managing HSE emergencies, waste identification, classification, and disposal.
- Knowledge of emission monitoring processes.
- Ability to lead the maintenance group effectively.
- Excellent communication skills in English and proficiency in using MS Outlook for correspondence.
- Competence in utilizing SAP as an end user.
