Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Senior Engineer, Design and Modelling to define system and subsystem functional and interface requirements.
- Derive subsystem functional and interface requirements.
- Develop design concepts and prototypes to confirm requirements and user needs.
- Develop solution alternatives and conduct trade studies to make appropriate design decisions.
- Research material and component costs and availability.
- Assess and document design risks.
- Assist in presenting designs at technical reviews.
- Create CAD models and detailed drawings of mechanical systems and hardware, specifications, and parts lists.
- Estimate material, component, and assembly costs.
- Lead first prototype design evaluation and integration.
- Develop design schedules and provide progress status metrics.
- Integrate, or support integration of designs into higher-level assemblies.
- Balance cost, performance, quality, reliability, testability, and manufacturability in the overall design.
- Apply best practice techniques, standards, principles, theories, and concepts.
- Comply with contractual obligations and established the company Quality and Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) standards.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all company information.
- Support other members of the Engineering Department in fulfilling their roles.
- Perform other duties as required by the line manager and the Director of Engineering.
Experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Mechanical Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
- A minimum of one to three years of experience in the detailed design of mechanical systems, hardware, and software is required.
- Proficiency in CAD and CAE tools for design, linear and non-linear modeling, simulation, and analysis is required; CREO and ANSYS experience preferred.
- Previous experience with military tactical, combat, or support ground vehicles is an advantage.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment on multiple discipline projects with changing priorities and schedules is required.
- Knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office software and CMMS preferred.
- The ability to communicate effectively in English, both in writing and verbally, is required.
- Must have, or be able to obtain, a valid UAE driver’s license.
